Faculty of Wood Technology at Poznań University of Life Sciences was created in 1954. Currently within the Faculty there is one Institute of Chemical Wood Technology and 9 Departments (Chemistry, Glueing and Finishung of Wood, Furniture Design, Mechanical Wood Technology, Mechanics and Thermal Techniques, Wood Science, Woodworking Machinery and Basic Construction, Wood Based Materials). All organizational units of the Faculty (except Department of Chemistry) are under one roof and have 28 laboratories and classrooms where nearly 600 students may participate classes at the same time. Some laboratories are located in experimental station with half-technical scale of experiments possibilities. There are also 3 lecture rooms for 190, 150 and 60 students. Wood Technology Faculty employs 74 university teachers including 26 senior researchers. The Faculty offers two-tier structure studies in a full-time and extramural mode at the major “Wood Technology” and full-time studies at the major ”Furniture Design”.

There is also a doctorate postgraduate programme, both full-time and extramural. Syllabuses of studies complying with international educational standards aim at educating highly qualified research personnel who meet expectations of woodworking industry and its research-development base. On the educational offer there are also postgraduate studies (computer-supported design and production of furniture and wood and wood based materials in construction).  The Faculty of Wood Technology is entitled to confer Doctor degrees and post-doctoral degrees of forestry and wood science. (http://skylark.up.poznan.pl/en/faculty-wood-technology-0)
